#1 about work and life and writing

citando a la mujer barbuda en The Greatest Showman: THIS IS ME!

hot off the press!

✷ also wrote about it in English because it seems like each language has its own complaints related to the topic. you can read that one here

currently enjoying

✷ Sally Rooney is ba-ba-ba-baaaaack and I'm obviously reading Intermezzo, which you can see above as the background of a nice treat I got at work. the only thing I can say about it is, god I wish I had 1% of Rooney's talent (and her editors)

✷ currently also reading Long Island. I made a huge mistake and I ordered it in German and it's like, if I knew how to read in German I would've known that the book was in German. but anyway, I'm still enjoying it a lot as much as I've enjoyed every book I've read from Colm Toíbín and I hope they'll adapt this one in 10-20 years, too

Justine 29 de marzo, 2026 #12 am I an idiot? Quoting Raphael Bob-Waksberg, I would try to tell her: Things will get better, but it came out as: Nothing didn’t get worse. Some days ago, I was reading I Want to Go Home But I’m Already There by Róisín Lanigan at night. I started reading it because a) I love Irish authors and b) I read it was both funny and dark and… and an Irish author being funny? Color me interested! Around 9% of the book, there’s an incident that made me think, ok, maybe at...

Justine 8 de marzo, 2026 #11 about 8M Quoting Lisa Hanawalt, this weekend I felt deep despair about everything and I was trying to finish this drawing with slutty little horses in it, and it was hard to keep going, because who cares about slutty little horses at a time like this? I came back from the ashes to talk about Feminism. Yeah, I can hear you say, AGAIN?! Well yes, it's International Women's Day. This year I'm tired, it's very shitty out there, and I barely feel any energy left to...

Justine 29 de julio, 2025 #10 about Labubus Quoting my husband, I'm taking this one Labubu at a time. Shout out to fellow creative Zoey, who gave me the pep talk I needed on Friday 🫶 Maybe you're wondering what I'm doing in your inbox on a random Tuesday night. Well, wonder no more because I have something very important to talk about. This week, somebody put a Labubu on the tomb of Karl Marx (although it might be a Lafufu -- or fake Labubu). As mentioned in one of the comments on the...
