#8 about women
Quoting Jo from Little Women, Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they've got ambition, and they've got talent, as well as just beauty. I'm so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for.
So today is International Women's Day.
And before you think about saying HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY, I'll stop you right there. I don't celebrate Women's Day and it's because we don't do that in Mexico. We can't when every 11 hours a woman has to go to the hospital as a consequence of sexual violence, where every 19 hours a woman is drowned or asphyxiated until they die, where women disappearing is a daily occurrence, where girls experience harassment and violence since even before they start understanding the world. And the same is true for many other places in the world.
For that reason, I'm keeping it simple today and I'm only sharing 4 texts I wrote about Feminism.
